STURDY ASH is a non-differentiated heartwood species. The “coloured heart” that develops later in time is an optional character and in European ashes ranges from a grey-brown to an olive-like colour. Because of its resemblance with the olive tree, its botanical relative, tree trunks that present these peculiar veins are called olive ash woods. Ash belongs to the heavier and stronger woods category, it is vigorous and elastic. Every wooden element of the same species and has a unique and peculiar appearance, that develops both from the climatic and mineralogical features of the plant’s place of growth, and from its trunk orientation. Consequently, the colour tones and the fibres of the samples are to be intended as indicative and non-binding, as they represent only a minimum part of the natural variations that make every wooden element unique and unrepeatable. The extreme and even opacity is paired with a very pleasurable softness thanks to a dedicated painting, and allows high-resistance to most of the stains.
VENEERED: the wooden tops are created with veneered multi-layered panels with refined essences and processed with the folding technology. This technology maintains the sheared continuity on the 4 visible sides of the top.
