Milan Design Week 2026

Milan, April 2026 – During Milan Design Week, Elmar Cucine presented at Casa .elmar Milano a new design chapter signed by Palomba Serafini Associati, placing contemporary living at the centre through an original collection of islands.
Long a core focus of the studio's research, the home became here a testing ground for experimentation: a space to be reimagined as fluid and welcoming, capable of responding to emotional as well as functional needs.
The result was a project that worked on the softness of forms, the elimination of sharp edges, and a sophisticated use of materials, to create environments conveying comfort and a sense of protection.
The outcome was a domestic environment that, while unfolding within real and at times compact spaces, succeeded in generating an intimate, welcoming and contemporary dimension.
Casa .elmar was transformed into an articulated journey recounting the many possibilities of kitchen design, through a renewed exhibition layout.

In this 2026 edition, Elmar enriched the design experience with a sensory journey engaging smell, taste and sound.
Within the Casa .elmar space, "Pausa di Pane" took shape — an installation project created in collaboration with Forniture Pallotta, which transformed the space into an immersive narrative dedicated to bread as a living material. Light passed through porous surfaces, the alveolar structure became visual patterns, and the scents of fermentation enveloped the environment. Between artistic window decals, backlit walls, bread sculptures and sound installations, the everyday gesture of bread-making was transformed into a poetic language, capable of entering into dialogue with design.
Furthermore, to complete the immersion in the world of baked goods, on Sunday 26 April Casa .elmar and the AEG Experience Area hosted "Structural Dough: the Architecture of Leavening", a free workshop led by bread therapist Cristina Galliena Bohman.
